Dawid Podsiadło tour: How AR Turned a Concert Crowd Into Part of the Show
Waiting for a concert doesn’t have to be boring. 🎤🎶
The moments before the artist steps on stage are when the anticipation and excitement reach their peak. Instead of letting that energy go to waste, why not turn it into part of the lineup?
That’s exactly what we did for Dawid Podsiadło’s three final national tour concerts. Just before one of the country’s biggest artists took the stage, cameras around the venues captured fans in the crowd, transformed their faces with our take on the iconic Crying Face AR Lens powered by Snap Camera Kit, and displayed them live on the stadiums’ giant screens with a simple message:
“Smile, we’re about to begin.”

As the transformed faces appeared on the jumbotrons, the entire venues burst into laughter. For a few special minutes, tens of thousands of people shared the same joke, turning complete strangers into one cheering, laughing crowd before the first song had even started.

It’s a great example of how a simple AR Lens can fit into a large-scale live event, turning the wait into an important part of the show and bringing an entire stadium together before the concert even begins.
