Step into 17th-Century Poland with “1670” AI Portraits for Netflix
What if you could see yourself as a character in your favorite Netflix series? That’s exactly what the “Portrait from Adamczycha” campaign made possible, inviting fans to step into the world of 1670 and discover whether they belong among peasants or nobles through an AI-powered, immersive experience.
Since its debut, 1670 has become a pop culture phenomenon in Poland. The satirical show tells the story of the peasants and nobles of Adamczycha village, blending modern humor with the folklore of 17th-century Poland.
A Modern Take on 17th-Century Poland
History and cultural references provide a rich background for the story, making it both deeply relatable to viewers and feel personally attached to the show. Fans appreciated how the series translates contemporary jokes and references into a historical setting while preserving cultural authenticity, creating a strong emotional connection with the world of Adamczycha.
When Season 2 premiered in September, the 1670 yet again took social media by storm. Catchphrases, memes, and plotlines were the main topics of online conversations, pushing the series into the top three most-streamed shows in Poland. Fans were eager to immerse themselves further, and Netflix made it possible.
The Portrait from Adamczycha Experience
We had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with some of the most creative minds from Bosko, K2, Cudo, K+, Picsane, and Powster on an interactive and immersive campaign for Netflix. Together, we imagined an experience that would allow fans to feel like they were truly part of the show. The concept was simple yet powerful: 17th-century portraits that transformed viewers into either a peasant or a noble, celebrating Polish culture through historically inspired aesthetics.
Accessible via TikTok, WebAR, and AR Mirror at the official 1670 event in Warsaw, users could take a photo and watch themselves become part of Adamczycha’s world.
At the Royal Harvest Festival event, guests were fully immersed in the world of 1670. Surrounded by show-inspired scenography, period costumes, and interactive attractions, attendees had the chance to meet the cast and celebrate the spirit of Adamczycha in person.
Among the highlights was the AR-powered photobooth, where visitors could transform into peasants or nobles and print their AI-generated portraits as souvenirs, turning a digital experience into a real one. The combination of atmosphere, entertainment, and technology made the event both memorable and highly shareable.
AR meets AI: Living the Story, Not Just Watching It
The “Portrait from Adamczycha” campaign centred on immersion and community, inviting fans to step inside the world of 1670, celebrate Polish culture, and connect with others, jumping on the online wave of memes, jokes, edits, and discussions that the premiere started.
By blending cutting-edge AI portrait generation with the visual language of 17th-century art, we crafted an experience that felt both authentic and innovative. Each transformation offered a personalized step into the world of Adamczycha, with details inspired by historical paintings, textures, and costume design.
Fans enthusiastically shared their portraits across social media, sparking conversations and a playful rivalry between the two groups. The campaign not only amplified excitement around the series but also created a sense of belonging and shared experience among its audience.
By stepping into their favorite show, viewers weren’t just watching the story. They were living it, embodying the humor, spirit, and cultural charm that make 1670 such a distinctive reflection of Polish identity.
Working on this project with Netflix and some of the industry’s top specialists was an amazing experience for us. We’re incredibly proud to have contributed to a project that blends storytelling, technology, and immersion in such an original way — and we truly loved being part of it!
